Trade fair expanded to include careers in healthcare

IFAS 2016 – a showcase for the medical industry’s many innovations

IFAS 2016, the trade fair for the healthcare market, is presenting the latest products, innovative services and trends to a wide audience from the healthcare industry at Messe Zürich from 25 to 28 October. This year, IFAS is also playing host for the first time to “CareFair”, the Swiss careers fair for healthcare professions.

The healthcare and medical technology industries are highly innovative sectors, which launch countless new products and services every year. IFAS provides healthcare professionals with a unique opportunity to discover all these innovations at a single venue and to gather information to help them make their investment decisions. The trade fair for the healthcare market therefore attracts a large number of decision-makers from hospitals, providers of care services and medical practices.

IFAS has a new look and now includes the “CareFair” careers fair

Digitalisation and diagnostics are significant driving forces behind medical progress, and IFAS has adapted its look accordingly. Despite these technological developments, people must continue to remain at the forefront of medicine because, ultimately, innovations, research and medical care require a healthcare industry with both intellect and compassion.

Outstanding devices, procedures and laboratory tests alone do not deliver excellent healthcare. Instead, what the industry still needs above all else is experts who interpret the data, perform the operations and take care of the patients. This year, IFAS is also playing host for the first time to “CareFair”, the Swiss careers fair for healthcare professions. The event gives aspiring and established healthcare professionals a chance to find out about individual employers first hand. At the same time, the fair provides the exhibiting institutions and companies with an excellent opportunity to advertise what makes them attractive employers and to recruit new staff on the spot.

Special exhibition and forum

Thanks to the huge interest shown, the Hospitality in Healthcare special exhibition is being run for the fourth time. Presenting innovative, multi-functional and cost-effective products for the health and care sector, the exhibition is once again being organised by its founder Gabriela La Rocca. As in previous years, the 2016 forum is holding numerous events on topics of practical relevance. The programme will be published after the summer break.

Opportunity to make high-quality contacts sets the trade fair apart

In the age of digital communication, the chance to build contacts and enter into personal discussions remains extremely important for companies and clients. This is why around 80 percent of Swiss medical suppliers have attended IFAS in recent years. Companies are already showing a keen interest to take part in the 2016 event as well. “We are delighted to have seen such a strong demand nine months before the trade fair,” comments Show Director Heinz Salzgeber. “We have noticed that lots of new companies have already registered from all manner of fields.”

Industry associations demonstrate the significance of IFAS

The relevance of the trade fair to the industry is also highlighted by its cooperation partners. In 2016, these once again include the most important industry associations in Switzerland: FASMED (Federation of Swiss Medical Technology), FMH Services (Independent Service Organisation of Doctors Practising in Switzerland), VSFM (Association of Swiss Companies for Medical Informatics), H+ (The Hospitals of Switzerland), SATMeH (Swiss Association for Telemedicine & eHealth) and fmCh (Foederatio Medicorum Chirurgicorum Helvetia – Association of Professional Societies in the Field of Surgical and Invasive Procedures).
